Objective
The primary objective of the Sanitation and Hygiene TWG is to enhance the efficient and effective delivery of sanitation and hygiene initiatives and programs in Malawi through WESNET. This will contribute to the achievement of relevant WASH protocols and international conventions.

Specific Objectives

• Strengthen coordination of sanitation and hygiene interventions within the sector.
• Contribute to the National SWAp Sanitation and Hygiene TWG through WESNET.
• Facilitate monitoring and evaluation of sanitation and hygiene programs.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Enhance coordination of sanitation and hygiene interventions in the sub-sector.
• Provide input, contribute, and coordinate with the National SWAp Sanitation and Hygiene TWG.
• Analyze and profile national issues on sanitation and hygiene.
• Facilitate documentation and dissemination of best practices, lessons learned, and challenges.
• Oversee monitoring and evaluation of sanitation and hygiene programs.
• Contribute to periodic reviews or the development of policies, frameworks, legislation, strategies, and plans.
• Identify and prioritize investment requirements for implementation up to 2030.

Operational Arrangements

• The TWG will meet quarterly.
• Meeting venues will rotate, with the chairperson consulting and deciding on the venue.
• A quorum will consist of at least four NGO representatives.
• Membership selection will prioritize NGOs actively implementing sanitation and hygiene interventions.
• Communication methods will include phone calls, emails, and WhatsApp messaging.
