Today, Malawi joins the rest of the world in commemorating the Global Handwashing Day under the theme “Unite for Universal Hand hygiene” linking handwashing, food hygiene and nutrition.
It is a global advocacy day dedicated to increasing awareness and understanding about the importance of handwashing with soap as an effective and affordable way to prevent diseases and save lives.
The main message is for everyone to remember to always wash hands with soap and that when advocating for hand hygiene, no one should be left behind.
